Two years ago Lewes in East Sussex brought out the 'Lewes Pound' to enduce spending in local shops and it went very well. In fact several other towns around the country have followed suit.
The latest one to jump on the band wagon is Maidstone, who have decided to depict a portrate of Tory MP Ann Widdecombe on their notes.
