We have a fox. She visits our garden a lot sometimes in broad daylight. She visits us mainly due to the fact that we have guinea pig runs that she has made two easy meals out of.

We are very weary of her as she is getting more and more bold (or hungry) and when we heard a kerfuffle outside at 3am we assumed that she may have attacked our kitten (who is on heat).

As it turns out it appears that neither of our cats were involved, but the wife still got dressed to see what the row was about.

This morning I swotted up about foxes and found some interesting facts. They avoid cats and dogs at their peril, in fact any animal large enough to fight back. That their youg are called 'kits' and once they are grown and able to fend for themselves, however, the vixen suddenly turns snarly and mean, and will chase them away to find their own territories - thus ensuring that a local disaster does not wipe out the entire next generation. One must assume this is what I heard last night.

Anybody else got an urban fox story?
