The University of Virginia has a web site called the Oracle of Bacon. On this site you can enter two film stars and it will calculate a connection between them through either films or TV within 7 degrees of separation. For instance I tried Buster Crabbe (who played Flash Gordon in the 1930/40s and Matt Damon. The result was:


Matt Damon was in Majestic, The (2001) with Garry Marshall
Garry Marshall was in They Call Him Sasquatch (2003) with Chuck McCann (I)
Chuck McCann (I) was in Comeback Trail, The (1982) with Buster Crabbe
